Effective Avoid Heart Disease

Heart disease is most sadistic killer. Every year, tens of millions of people worldwide die from this disease and there are millions of people convicted as new carriers. Unfortunately, most people do not know that heart disease is preventable through diet and natural settings.
Changes in diet can reduce the risk of heart attack up to 81 percent.

Experts from Europe who joined in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) in recent years to study the pattern and nutrient intake in 10 European countries. The research also develop ways or strategies to reduce risk of heart and blood vessel disease.

According to researcher and author of Your dietitian Healthy Weight Loss Plan, John Phillip, the results of various research shows that heart disease can be formed since the beginning of one's life and later developed into a deadly threat when they grow up. The good news is the risk of heart disease can be controlled and avoided by making simple changes in lifestyle and diet person.

EPIC Research published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine suggests that a change in diet can reduce the risk of heart attack up to 81 percent. By setting the right diet, the risk of inflammation can be reduced and blood pressure under control.

Experts stressed four important factors that one can do in order to avoid the risk of heart disease:

1. Reduce foods containing refined carbohydrates, sugar, and grains.

Processed foods have now become the main menu every day. In fact, these foods contain simple carbohydrates that easily processed into glucose, causing blood sugar increase in a short time. This is the trigger of insulin resistance and cause a thickening of the endothelial lining of coronary vessels. It is recommended to gradually reduce your intake of types of bread, pasta, rice, sugary foods, and all foods made from wheat or corn.

2. Limit the Omega-6 vegetable oils.

Vegetable oil or vegetable oil is relatively stable at room temperature and used in nearly all the roasting and processing of food to add flavor and make it more durable. According to experts, excessive consumption of vegetable oil can also trigger the release of chemicals that increase oxidative stress and trigger damage to the vascular system. But avoid the use of vegetable oils for cooking and limit eating fried foods.

3. Do not forget the Omega-3 fatty acids

Modern diets are almost never incorporate healthy foods that contain Omega-3 fatty acids, which in fact never been part of human diet for centuries. According to experts, the ideal ratio between fatty acid content of Omega-6 and Omega-3 in the 1:1 diet.

The experts also agree that most people in Europe today mengasup diet with a ratio of 20:1. As a result, this phenomenon causes an imbalance and trigger a systemic inflammation. Advice from the experts, enter the types of fish, like tuna, salmon, and sardines, nuts, and grains to balance the ratio of your fat intake or by taking supplements of fish oil.

4. Avoid oxidative stress

Akitivitas normal body such as breathing, eating, and moving can generate free radicals that damage the genetic structure and cause bad cholesterol (LDL) oxidation. We can not prevent this process fully. However, we can mute it by way of fresh vegetables, fruits, berries of the species, and certain supplements to reduce the effects of free radicals on heart health and other organs.

Dental Health Can Systemic Impact

Oral hygiene are important things that need to be maintained. Oral health is not only related to issues in aesthetics only, but also can cause serious health problems.

The emergence of diseases related to teeth such as caries (tooth decay) or periodontal disease (infection of the tooth / dental plaque), for example, can be fatal to the health of the body.

There are two types of disturbances in the teeth and mouth that can cause systemic disease.

If not addressed quickly can cause the microbes in dental plaque, spread and cause systemic diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, respiratory diseases, diabetes and even cause premature birth.

Caries or tooth decay is the disease on dental hard tissue that is email, dentin and cementum that ferment carbohydrates on the teeth.

Caries process is characterized by the occurrence of demineralization of dental hard tissue, followed by damage to organic materials that cause bacterial invasion and damage to the pulp tissue and spread infection to the periapical tissue and cause pain.

While periodontal disease is an infectious disease caused by bacteria that accumulate in the plaque, which causes gingival inflammation, so it is often also called plaque disease.

He said, just as other organs, oral cavity is a gathering place for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Oral bacteria can spread through the bloodstream, called bacteremia.

From the study reported that bacteremia occurred in 100 percent of patients after tooth extraction, 70 per cent after cleaning tartar, 55 percent after surgery three molars, and 20 percent after root canal treatment of teeth.

In normal oral health condition, only the number of bacteria that enter the bloodstream and not harmful. However, in individuals who have poor oral hygiene, then the number of bacteria on the surface of the teeth increased 20-10 times, so the chances of bacteremia to be larger.

Focal infection theory states that the infection in the oral cavity is responsible for the occurrence and development of three systemic namely cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus and atherosclerosis.

But of the three most influential are cardiovascular disease, because bacteria can gear directly into the body through the bloodstream. This shows that the teeth and oral cavity can function as a pathway for disease-causing microbes other body gets.

Although in some developing countries reportedly have been improved or improving oral health, but dental and oral health problems remains a challenge that needs filling.

In this case, it takes an active part of society to behave in a healthy life that starts from ourselves. Not enough just to keep the habit alone, but must also try to avoid some risk factors for oral disease such as smoking, alcohol and stress. Also, get used to a diet with balanced nutrition, reduce intake of sugar and and visit the dentist regularly at least twice a year.

It can be concluded that oral health is well maintained to prevent someone from suffering the risk of oral disease and systemic disease.

Health benefits gained from marriage is derived from the low stress hormone, cortisol, and combination of other factors. The low level of cortisol is to make someone respond with better psychological pressure.

Although pernihakan also bring its own stress, men who marry will be easier to deal with other stressors in her life.

His research involved 500 students who are given a series of computer games that create stress. Of all respondents, 40 percent of men and 53 percent of women married or have partners. The researchers also collected saliva samples to measure levels of cortisol and testosterone, before and after the game.

At the beginning of the study, men and single women have the same levels of stress hormones compared to participants who are married. In contrast levels of stress hormones married men is lower, as well as levels of testosterone.

According to researchers, low levels of testosterone is a natural thing and can be easily found in primates or birds that have paternal behavior.

Low body's ability to deal with stress is an important prerequisite in the health and life expectancy. Those who experience prolonged stress more easily fall sick because of lower body resistance. Stress in the long run can also cause blockages in blood vessels which inevitably result in heart disease.

Passive Smokers, Children Can suffer Hypertension

Children who live with parental smokers at greater risk of suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure, although they are still small. In fact, hypertension in children can continue until they grow up.

Hypertension in children is a state of systolic blood pressure and / or diastolic average is at large equal to 95 percentile for age and sex, who performed at least three times of measurement.

Hypertension in children divided into two categories, namely primary hypertension when the cause of hypertension can not be explained. Hypertension is usually associated with hereditary factors, the input of salt, stress, and obesity. Meanwhile, secondary hypertension occurs as a result of other underlying diseases, such as kidney disease.

In recent research led by Dr Giacomo D Simonetti from Children's Hospital University of Bern, Switzerland, stated that secondhand smoke is a risk factor of hypertension in children.

In his research, Simonetti and his team examined the data on 4236 boys and girls aged 5-6 years living in the southwestern part of Germany. Approximately 29 percent of the children's father and 21 percent of their mothers were smokers. As many as 12 percent of children also have parents who smoke.

After accounting for other heart disease factors, such as birth weight, premature birth or parental hypertension, the researchers found that parental smoking is an independent factor on the incidence of hypertension in children.

The study also found children whose mothers smoke have worse effects on blood pressure than if exposed to cigarette smoke from his father.

Prevention of cardiovascular disease in adulthood can be started from the age of the children by avoiding risk factors, including avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke. The consequences may last long term.

Lychee Fruit & Benefit for Health

Sweet lychees of nutrient-rich because it contains vitamin C and potassium levels are high. Substances that exist in the lychees to prevent and treat various diseases, including cough, stomach injury, and hypertension.

Lychee fruit (Litchi chinensis Sonn) is derived from Kwantung and Fukien province in Southern China. In 1873 this plant spread to Hawaii, then to Florida, USA in 1883. Kwantung and Fukien province in China known as the largest producer of lychee fruit, followed by India and other countries.

In Indonesia, the lychee crop is not so popular. However, because it has a unique taste and high economic value, this plant has also started to try cultivated in Bali (Gianyar, Tabanan, Badung) and Cianjur.

Lychee is a subtropical plant belonging to the family Sapindaceae or soapberry. Known by several terms, such as lichi, litchi, lichee, laichi, leechee, or lychee. Lychee fruit has a high selling price, whether in fresh or in processed form.

Solid Sugar
Water content in lychee fruit is high enough, which is about 77-83 percent, its energy levels reach 66 kcal per 100 grams. Most of the energy derived from carbohydrates (sugars), which is 59.5 kcal, the rest from protein and fat in a row by 2.8 kcal and 3.7 kcal. The content of carbohydrates in lychee fruit is high (16.53 g per 100 g of fruit) consisting of various types of sugar.

Lychee contain sucrose and glucose abundance, so eat lychee fruit at night to increase energy reserves for the next day. Sugars contained in the lychees varies depending on the variety, but generally reach 10-13 percent. Lychee is also a source of food fiber (dietary fiber) is tolerable, which is about 1.3 g per 100 g of fruit flesh.

Lipid content in lychee fruit is very low, so it is good to be consumed by all age groups, including also those who are dieting to maintain or lose weight. Therefore, there is no limit how many lychees that should be consumed per day.

Vitamin C and Potassium
Vitamins are the most prominent on lychee fruit is vitamin C content of 71.5 mg per 100 grams of fruit flesh. With 100 grams of lychee fruit, was able to meet more than 100 percent of vitamin C a day.

Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that is very useful for attacks against free radicals, causes premature aging, cancer and other diseases. Based on these beliefs, these days a lot of vitamin C added to processed food products.

The dominant mineral in the lychee fruit is 171 mg potassium, phosphorus 31 mg, 10 mg magnesium, and calcium 5 mg. Despite the low levels, lychees also contains iron, zinc, copper, sodium, selenium, and other minerals.

Calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium are important minerals triad for bone formation and normal body frame, so that much needed children who are in a period of growth and also by adults to inhibit the rate of osteoporosis.
Copper is one mineral antioxidant. Lack of this mineral can interfere with normal mechanisms of the body in eliminating the presence of free radicals are constantly formed in the body.

Mineral copper (Cu) can form complexes with antioxidant enzyme systems superoxide Dismutase (SOD), which plays a role in neutralizing superoxide radicals.
It is very interesting from the mineral composition of lychee is the ratio between potassium (K) and sodium (Na) is very high, ie 171:1. This is very beneficial because the processed foods we consume daily is generally contain high Na, but very low K. This is exactly what led to the increasing number of people with hypertension in Indonesia.

Potassium (also known as potassium) plays an important role in improving the regularity of heart rate, activating muscle contractions, regulating delivery of other nutrients to body cells, controlling the balance of fluid in body tissue, and lower high blood pressure (hypertension). Thus, if regrettable food processing often leads to the low ratio of potassium to sodium, resulting from the use table salt and MSG (a flavor) are excessive.

Consumption of high food are expected to offset the high K Na due to consumption of food containing MSG and salt. The ratio of Na and K in the daily diet which is highly recommended is 1:1. Complete nutritional composition of litchi fruit can be seen in Table 1.

Acid levels on lychee fruit reaches .20 to .64 percent. The most dominant type of acid was malic acid which reached 80 percent, while the remaining 20 percent consists of citric acid, succinic, levulinat, phosphate, glutarat, malonic, and lactic acid. The combination of sugar and various types of acid causes the lychee has a sweet taste and refreshing.

Treat Cough and Stomach Injury
In the history of medicine, lychee fruit is believed to cure a cough and had a beneficial effect to cure gastralgia, tumor, and enlargement of the gland.

It has been reported that administration of fresh lychees in Florida, to heal the wounds of the stomach, so patients who previously bothered to go back to enjoy the meal with a delicious. The exact cause of it is not known scientifically.

As well as litchi and apricot fruit, lychee fruit also belong to the fruit that are hot (as most mature in the cold), so it is suitable group of people who consumed his body weak cold.

Vital energy and spleen they are mostly weak, low basic metabolism, the body produces less energy, feet and hands also feel cold on a hot day though. Their faces were whiter than normal people, and rarely feel thirsty, and do not like eating cold food. Fruits that are very useful for their heat.

Those who have an active lifestyle with regular exercise would always feel how it impacts and benefits for health. For the men, in particular, during this exercise are believed to help boost and maintain stamina.

However, when associated with fertility rates, exercise was not necessarily the same applies. Research in the United States indicates, sports activities do not give any impact to both the quality and quantity of sperm in most men.

Even so, there is one exception, namely those who like cycling. Data research shows that men who pedal a bicycle at least five hours a week appears to have fewer sperm and the number of active sperm is lower than their more sedentary.

The tendency is that most types of exercise had no effect on semen quality. Only a few specific types of sports and sports that require a high level of intensity that has impact.

Previous research indicates that the level of competitive athletes suspected to have problems with sperm quality. To assess the truth of sport relationship with sperm quality, researchers conducted a study involving thousands of men. Research reports were published in the journal Fertility and Sterility.

For the study, researchers followed 2200 men who did the examination of sperm in the three fertility clinics. Respondents were asked about general health and physical activity. To eliminate the influence of other factors that may affect the health of the sperm so that exercise becomes an independent factor, the researchers used statistical tool to move the influence of the use of multivitamins, weight, blood pressure, choice of underwear, and so forth.

From the research results revealed that men who exercise regularly, even fairly diligent, tend not to have a problem with quality or quantity of sperm than those who never exercise.

However, when looking specifically at the type of sport, a man who claimed to regularly cycling five hours in a week tend to have the quality and quantity of sperm are low.

Among men who did not exercise regularly, 23 percent have a low sperm count and 27 percent have poor sperm movement. Among men cycling at least five hours a week, almost 31 percent had low sperm counts and 40 percent by the quantity of sperm is less good.

Too early to tell if cycling activities on a regular basis can cause problems with sperm. Further studies need to be done to strengthen these findings before then considered to be the cause.

According to him, it is possible that male respondents were included in this study are not representative of the population in general. Because the male respondents were those who went to the clinic so that the most likely to have problems with sperm.

The team of doctors consisting of gynecologists, radiologists and engineers collaborated over two years to create an open MRI machine that can accommodate pregnant women in childbirth. As is known a conventional MRI machine is shaped like a long, narrow hallway.

With this special MRI machine experts hope will produce a more detailed description of how a baby through the birth canal to help understanding whether or not a woman to undergo delivery by cesarean section.

"For the first time we can see a picture with a clear mechanism in normal vaginal deliveries. Already the obstetrician decades trying to understand the complications that cause the baby not be born normally, such as the pelvis is narrow or there are no openings," said Alvarez Dr.Manny , expert content from obgin and reproductive sciences department at Hackensack University Medical Center, USA.

He said, various tools such as ultrasound or x-rays to measure bone in the pelvis that is used is very minimal.

"Now the doctor can get an explanation of why a woman could give birth to babies with substantial weight while others do not. The doctor also can determine the cause of abnormalities of shoulder dystocia that occurred due to the baby's shoulder hit the hip bone," he said.

A spokesman for the Charite hospital, the meeting place of birth in the MRI, said the delivery process went smoothly and now the mother and baby in good health.

MRI machines work by using magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of organs and tissues. Doctors usually use this tool to help diagnose disorders such as nerve, spinal cord injury, or tumor.

Value exceeding 25 is considered overweight (overweight) and obese if the value exceeds 30. In addition to calculating BMI, you can also measure the fatness of the abdominal circumference. For women, the maximum is 80 cm and 90 cm for men.

In addition to making the body so it is not agile, piles of fat in the body will invite the arrival of the disease. Similar to other body parts, fat tissue also requires oxygen and nutrients from the blood. With the increased need for oxygen and nutrients, then the amount of blood flow throughout the body would have to increase as well. Thus, increasing the risk of high blood pressure.

Excess fat is also associated with increased LDL cholesterol or bad cholesterol and triglycerides. Over time, these blood fat changes had a role in the formation of fatty deposits (plaques) in arteries. Knowing the Risk of Prostate Cancer Through Finger

There is no simple formula to determine who will have problems in the prostate. Therefore, many doctors recommend that men over the age of 40 years of a medical examination the prostate.

Another way to determine the risk of prostate cancer, at least, according to research published in the British Journal of Cancer, is to look at differences in finger length. It is said that men who have a longer index finger than ring finger had a lower risk for prostate cancer.

Finger length has been formed before the baby was born and is influenced by sex hormones in the womb. The fetus is exposed to less testosterone will have a longer index finger size and protected against prostate cancer later in life.

"The results of this research may someday be used as a screening tool to be combined with other risk factors, such as genetic testing and history in the family," says Professor Ros Eeles, researchers from the University of Warwick and the Institute of Cancer Research, UK.

The study adds evidence of previous studies that mention the link between the influence of hormone balance in fetal and diseases that may be sustained in the future. It is not impossible if the will of the pregnant women can do in ways of prevention of cancer risk in prospective baby.

Even so, the men who have a shorter index finger does not need to worry because prostate cancer is more influenced by the age factor. The older the age of a man, the higher the risk of having prostate problems.

HIV Transmission from Mother to Infant Increasingly Rises

HIV transmission from mother to infant tends to increase steadily over the increasing number of women with HIV in Indonesia. Although the prevalence data of HIV transmission from mother to baby is still limited, but the trend of transmission will continue to rise because the number of HIV positive pregnant women tend to increase.

Thus disclosed Deputy Assistant Regional Development of the National AIDS Commission Good Rahmat Prabowo in discussion "The Importance of Providing Access to HIV / AIDS Prevention of Mother to Child (Prevention-Mother-To-Child-Transmission/PMTCT-)" which was held in Bandung Frisian Flag Indonesia ,

Good explains, from about 4.5 million pregnancies in Indonesia every year, an estimated 25 percent raises risk of HIV transmission from mother to baby. Estmasi This can be seen from the HIV screening data obtained from PMTCT services.

"Data in 2008 showed that the number of pregnant women who test for HIV as many as 5167 people, of which 1306 (25%) of them HIV positive," he said.

Good adds, until 2008, has been available PMTCT services to 30 services are integrated in the MCH services (antenatal care). PMTCT programs have also been adopted by several institutions of society, especially for outreach and expand access to PMTCT services.

Increased number of HIV positive pregnant women, continued Good, makes the need for PMTCT services will increase. Based on the results of projections and modeling of the HIV epidemic, the number of positive pregnant women who need PMTCT services will increase from 5730 persons in 2010 to 8170 people in 2014.

On the same occasion, Dr. Reni Ghrahani of Allergy Immunology Division Staff Section of Child Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Padjadjaran states, prevention becomes very important because every pregnant women with HIV / AIDS to their babies at risk of transmitting 25 to 45 percent. The risk of transmission when the mother has appeared in a state of pregnancy, during childbirth until later when breastfeeding their babies.

"Poor people's knowledge related to transmission and prevention of HIV / AIDS to make Indonesia as the fastest country in the spread of HIV / AIDS in Asia. The worse the condition of the mother, risk of transmission to infants will increase. The process of delivery by Caesarean section and do not give milk to babies from mothers with HIV / AIDS can reduce the risk of transmission to 35 percent, "he said.

Meanwhile, Corporate Communications Manager Frisian Flag Indonesia (FFI) Anton Susanto, confirms it is committed to improving nutrition and public health, especially children.

For this reason, the FFI has commenced involvement in the partnership program to provide access to HIV prevention from mother to child (PMTCT) in Bandung since March 2009. FFI has teamed up with the KPA, Bandung, West Java Commission for Health (KUJBS) and several nongovernmental organizations to help the PMTCT program through the provision of counseling and monitoring support to mothers with HIV / AIDS.

"We are aware that in several countries has shown that preventive action through PMTCT programs can reduce the risk of transmission rates significantly," he said.

For his support of the PMTCT program in Bandung since two years ago, FFI receives award from Bandung City Government. Award presented by Mayor Dada Rosada coincide with World AIDS Day

They spend so much time and money to be physically beautiful or to maintain their beauty. Admittedly, to maintain our beauty or to look beautiful, we need help from beauty products and treatments. But not all can afford such treatments. There are other ways however to maintain your beauty without undergoing such expensive treatments. You can even do it at home and at your own time using inexpensive ingredients. So here are some beauty recipes you can do at home:

Hair Beauty Products

1. For a homemade hair conditioner, get one egg yolk and beat it, mix it with a cup of plain yogurt. Before washing your hair, rub this mixture and leave on for 30-45 minutes. Rinse it well and wash your hair. And yes, this conditioner is applied first before washing the hair.

2. For a homemade hairspray, get a lemon and slice it into quarters. Pour 2 cups of water in a pot and drop the sliced lemon. Bring it to boil and keep it in boiling point until the amount of water is half than the original amount. Once cooled, strain it and keep it in a spray bottle. Refrigerate this mixture to keep for a long time and if this mixture becomes too sticky, just add a little water.

3. To give brown hair more glow, use coffee. After brewing a cup of coffee, let cool and strain it. Rub it in your hair and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse well after.

Facial Masks

1. This facial mask is good for all skin types. For a citrus face mask, mix 2 tablespoons of orange juice and 1 tablespoon of honey. Combine them with ½ teaspoon of sage and 1 tablespoon of apple puree. Mix well and heat in the microwave for a minute or 2 or just enough to warm the mixture. Apply on your face and leave on for 20 minutes. Use a warm washcloth to clean your face.

2. For oily skin, prepare this cucumber facial mask. Blend 1 egg white, ½ cucumber, ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple mint. Refrigerate the mixture for about 10 minutes and apply it to a clean face. Leave it on for 20-25 minutes and rinse it with a warm washcloth then followed by a splash of cold water to close the pores.

Teeth Whitening Products

1. Lemon juice and salt mixture work well in removing yellowish tint on the teeth. Just make a paste using 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of salt and rub it on the teeth.

2. The inner white part of the orange skin will give your teeth a great white shine when rubbed with it.

Being beautiful is not hard. You just have to be more resourceful and you will be surprised that most kitchen ingredients are used to beautify one's self.
